Inflammation in the Eye

Inflammation is often thought of in conventional medicine as the cause of tissue damage in both acute and chronic illness. Inflammation can be suppressed by extreme alkalizing drugs including steroids, antibiotics and pain killers like NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs).
Does this strong approach to controlling inflammation work? 
Well, it does decrease inflammation at least temporarily...
A study on aspirin and headaches found that the reduction in headaches when aspirin is taken is followed by a long term increase in the frequency of future headaches.
Why?
In order to understand, and to discover healthier and more effective solutions for the long term resolution of inflammatory symptoms and inflammation related illnesses, we have to look a little deeper.
Yes, inflammation is associated with symptoms like redness (rubor), heat (calor) and dolor (pain), as well as degenerative changes often accompanied by chronic low level inflammation...
And suppressing inflammation can temporarily reduce the acute symptoms, but typically at the cost of producing a more chronic, and potentially degenerative disease state in the affected tissue.
There are a few key points to add to our thinking about inflammation:

1. Inflammation is a state of lowered pH in the connective tissue
2. Acidic terrain (low pH, high protons) dissolves the normally alkaline gel state of the connective tissue into a sol (solution) which can then flow out through the lymph system (the waste collection system in most tissues)
3. The inflammatory response is produced by the immune system
4. The immune system is a divinely intelligent system doing the best it can with the resources at hand
5. Inflammation can be reduced by suppression (drugs), substitution (like cupping), support (like NAC) or stimulation (like homeopathy)
6. Only suppressive treatments add a new disease ("Allopathic" means new disease) to the body's burden
7. Suppression can convert an acute illness into a chronic illness (as in the study on headaches with aspirin)
8. Suppression can convert a superficial illness into a deeper illness (e.g. steroid creams for blepharitis can cause cataracts and glaucoma)
9. With suppressive therapies, the body tissue is forced to retain the original irritant or toxin, plus added residue of the drug used for treatment
10. As the immune system recovers from suppression, it will have to re-activate the inflammatory response in the affected tissue to try to finish the job of tissue cleansing
11. Once tissue is clear of foreign substances, it can return to the normal alkaline gel state and regenerate a healthy state of coherence

What diseases are related to inflammation?
First, think of all the diseases ending in "itis." 
The suffix -Itis means inflammation.
You can pretty much take the medical term for any part of the body and add itis to get the name of a disease.
Here are some examples in the eye area:

• Panophthalmitis (inflammation of the whole eye)
• Retrobulbar Neuritis (nerve inflammation behind the eye)
  
• Optic Neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve)
• Retinitis Pigmentosa (inflammation of the retina with pigment clumping, also known as night blindness)
• Vitritis (inflammation of the vitreous, the gel that fills the back of the eye behind the lens)
• Uveitis (inflammation of the highly vascular uveal tract located just behind the retina)
• Iritis (inflammation of the iris)
• Keratitis (inflammation of the cornea)
• Keratoconjunctivitis (inflammation of the cornea and conjunctiva)
• Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (dryness and inflammation of the cornea and conjunctiva, also known as Dry Eye Syndrome, and Sjogren's Syndrome if associated with dryness in other areas like the mouth, and possibly the vagina)
• Conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva)
• Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid)

In addition, inflammation can be an important contributor to major blinding eye diseases like Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration. 
The important questions in approaching support and stimulation of Accelerated Self-Healing a are:

1. What might be triggering the immune system to produce inflammation in order to clean that tissue? If we can identify an ongoing toxic exposure, we certainly want to remove that ongoing cause of disease...
2. What support or stimulation can the immune system use in order to most efficiently complete its task of tissue cleansing? It tends to be the chronic 'smoldering' kind of inflammation that is associated with chronic degenerative disease and destruction of visual functions.

We assess the answers to those kinds of questions through a form of functional response testing or biofeedback that acts as a system of biocommunication.
Essentially, we monitor the body's state of energetic coherence versus patterns of stress that represent either

• acute reaction (connective tissue inflammation),
  
• deposition (a lack of quantum photonic energy for ionization of debris or foreign matter in the connective tissue) or 
  
• degeneration (impregnation of toxins and accumulation of wastes in the interior of the cells, where they interfere with processes of cell metabolism).

Different areas of the body can be in different energetic states at the same time.
When all major areas of the body are supported or stimulated to a state of balance and coherence with natural remedies, Accelerated Self-Healing takes place for about a month.
